Thomas Hardys Ale 2006
The 2006 release is here. Yet another fine vintage of T.H.
This is an Old ale in the finest tradition. It pours with a small but dense head and deep amber/brown in color. The aroma is malty but not sweet. The flavor is INTENSE malt. It is smooth in texture and piquant in flavor. It is all about the malt. Some fruitiness from the yeast or the hops but it is hard to tell over the massive malt character. The 11.7% alcohol does not get in the way, no heat, not even that prickly spiciness you some times get with that level of alcohol. This is one tasty Old ale what will continue to improve with age. To age T.H for 5 to 10 years is not uncommon. I know I have some 99 in my cellar and will probably compare these two side by side just for fun.

Baladin Super Ale
The JEWbelation is one powerful malty brew. Brown with a big head is has a massive caramel and plum flavor and aroma. The finish has a substantial bitterness due to the 10 varieties of hops; this beer takes you on a smooth velvety ride with a drying bitter finish. Kind of a cross between English Old Ale and a Barley Wine; it will age superbly for years to come.
Hebrew Lennys RIPA 22oz:
This 10% IPA with rye has a depth and complexity that deserves attention and praise. As long as you don’t mind a touch of sweetness this is the IPA for you. With an ingredient list such as this you can see what makes it an outstanding brew.
Malts: 2-row, Rye Ale Malt, Torrified Rye, Crystal Rye 75, Crystal Malt 65, Wheat, Kiln Amber, Caramel 70
Hops: Warrior, Cascade, Simcoe, Crystal, Chinook, Amarillo, Centennial. Dry Hopped with Amarillo and Crystal
Hebrew Genesis 10-10 22oz:
This strong golden ale clocks in at 10%. Its intense pale malt flavor is balanced by choice hops and a splash of pomegranate. As you drink more and more of this beer the pomegranate starts to move to the front and gives you a more acidic finish. It is by no means a fruit beer. The pomegranate has deep symbolism in the Jewish fail but only a well placed subtle showing in this beer.
Hebrew Messiah Bold 12oz:
Messiah Bold is a roasty Brown Ale that is made with dark crystal and chocolate malts. The Warrior and Cascade hops are not as assertive as they sound but still have a drying crisp finish.
Hebrew Genesis Ale 12oz:
Genesis Ale is of course HeBrews first beer and is well-designed pale ale. Smooth malt up front with a crisp hop mix of Warrior, Centennial, Cascade, Fuggle, Willamette.

This year, just for the sake of change, it’s a different brew, and even better. Look for something a little less hoppy, a little more malty, and a little more festive this time around. This Elf is so bad, it’s way good.
Ridgeway Very Bad Elf 500ml:
Based on an original recipe from 1795, Very Bad Elf has nutty and sweet-roasted flavors attributable to its use of an ancient pale malt, uniquely recreated for this delightful ale. A rare variety of Fuggles hops dating to the mid-1800’s gives the beer a soft, rounded bitterness and uncanny drinkability.
Ridgeway Seriously Bad Elf 500ml:
Another masterpiece from Peter Scholey at Ridgeway Brewing. Seriously Bad Elf is Peters"s very English interpretation of a Belgian Tripel, brewed to warming 9% alcohol.
Ridgeway Criminally Bad Elf 500ml:
Outstanding English barley wine. Brown in color with a bit of amber. Dense ample head with malty aroma. The flavor is caramel and fruity without being sweet and a small hop finish. Great beer with a great label.
Ridgeway Warm Welcome 500ml:
Peter got to work brewing the beer, which is of course a classic Brown ale with, er, more umph. It’s 6% by volume, a little hoppier than your average Brown, and with a little extra malty sweetness. A Nut Browned worthy of the holidays, for sure. Keep an eye out for a little earthy funkiness in the beer, the result of a special multi-strained yeast
