This 9.5% barley wine is ruby red in color with a touch of brown with a head that settles into a thin cover. The aroma is sweet. It has notes of raisins, hazelnuts, pepper and brandy. It is sweet on the tongue and warm in the tummy. The flavor is of apples, toffee with just a touch of chocolate. The flavor is sweet and aggressive and with the alcohol at 9.5% this has great aging potential of about 5 years.
